A GPIO port handles both incoming and outgoing digital signals. As an input port, it can communicate to the CPU the ON/OFF signals received from switches or the digital readings received from sensors.
It is used as a computer’s main memory. Each DRAM memory cell comprises a transistor and a capacitor within an integrated circuit, and a data bit is stored in the capacitor.
